Most of us are living a busy life and seldom pay much attention to what is going on in space. This is shame, however, because the sun has been a bit of a show-off lately!

NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory reported that the sun erupted with a surprise solar flare on Saturday (July 3, 2021).  This is the largest flare since 2017.  It was an early explosion of cosmic fireworks ahead of the Fourth of July!

I was riding with a friend last week talking about what the month of July is all about.  She immediately said in a rhythm, “It is a month to “Accentuate the positive! You know, like the song.”  I did not know the song but I did think the message is perfect inspiration for July!

Fireworks and Friends

From 1776 to present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American Independence.  To this day, Freedom, Sovereignty, and Revolution continue to be held high and celebrated. It is a time to be outside involved in fun activities, parades, and concerts with family and friends.  Ending the evening with displays of fireworks has become a memorable iconic scene and one that is looked forward to each year.  This is the first celebration of 2021…..
