What is a Pay Off?
A new landscape is being born on earth. Navigating the choices and changes required on this new terrain takes knowledge and awareness that there is a payoff to every choice and change. We assume a payoff is a positive, but that is not always true. A payoff can also be a comfortable negative. Making peace with “what is” can save us from the discomfort of change. Unfortunately the new reality might prevent this fall back choice.
A pay off is the fuel that is driving a choice or decision. It is described as “equivalent benefits” in a chosen direction. Some pay offs are obvious and others are hidden. Those brave souls that choose to find the hidden payoffs that are hindering progress in their life will be on the cutting edge of joy and freedom.
Rising above the ordinary world to create our best life is the goal and next step of this very interesting and altering period in our history. As the destruction of what does not fit in this new landscape evolves, new thoughts, new desires and new solutions will not require long drawn out steps to accomplish new outcomes. However, new knowledge and deeper insight will be most helpful in fulfilling the new solutions with ease. An almost instant creation making room for the new and improved will begin to take shape. “How could all of that have happened so fast?” will be the new phrase!
Ready or not, we are being pushed into the next levels of growth and personal transformation. Getting rid of patterns and beliefs that are holding back our desires is key to navigating the new world. The minute you recognize the pattern, is the minute you can be free. Of course this is a free planet, you could choose to stay the course, but like the example below, it will be harder to maintain the old patterns in the same way as our previous life allowed us to do.
What’s in it for me? How will this choice benefit me? Will this change bring me more happiness and comfort? Is this the highest overall choice for my best life?
These questions consciously or unconsciously are a driving force behind every choice and decision you make. I can already see some eyebrows rising as the altruistic part of you is thinking, “I make choices that are best for everyone.” Well, I am sure you do, but subconsciously what is best for you is normally best for everyone!
The ultimate decisions like stay or go, buy or sell, say yes or no can be made with ease most any day, but if you are offered a new job for example, this will take some thought. Elementary you might be thinking, the decision revolves round money! However, on a closer look there might be some old patterns surrounding the pay off that will be much wider in scope than financial gain. There is a lot more to see if you choose to look, such as your patterns and beliefs involving money.
Example: You are offered a new job and you will have a 50% increase in pay. You will have a further commute time which will involve added gas expenses and other new expenses like lunch and new wardrobe. The salary, notwithstanding the new expenses, will surely be enough to create a significant reason to move.
Person A chooses to take the new job. Person B chooses not to change and stays where they are. Initially, both are happy with their decisions. However, within a short amount of time, both realized they made their decision with the old lens of the pay off. They were ready to let go of phrases and beliefs like, “If I make too much money…,”, “If I take the job, I will probably have to learn a whole new…”. Person A recognized a pattern of jumping into a payoff of money only and quickly realized the money was not enough to make them happy. Person B recognized a pattern of using the fear of change to hold back any growth. And with more reflection both found many more underlying old patterns, payoffs that they used to justify their choice. They also realized their patterns of behavior were the outward reflection of a payoff. An added bonus to their quest was to identify where or who the old patterns came from. This is the knowledge and awareness that will be necessary to navigate in new energies of the planet.
Behind everyone’s choice or decision is a story. Find someone or somewhere to listen to your story to find the hidden payoff and possible pattern. When you identify the pattern you might need to change, you will be empowered to focus on how old patterns have affected you and then mobilize your commitment to be true to yourself and your new directions.
In The next two parts of “Payoff’s” I will use other stories as examples of “Situational awareness” and the benefit of making clear choices with fuller knowledge of the payoff.
Having this insight to your life is invaluable, and a pay off within itself!
Love to all,
