“A Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” Patanjali
When you find yourself searching the internet hoping to discover untraveled new sites and dreaming of the day that your trip can be fulfilled, you are experiencing Wanderlust.
I know you are probably thinking this is a terrible subject, because we can’t travel now. Well, we can’t in the usual way, but a lot of the fun in travel is the planning of the trip. Abandoning familiar routines, questioning conventional thinking and searching for new paths to take in new landscapes is part of the lure in new adventures. Even though we are not physically traveling for fun and vacations, this is a wonderful time to explore where you might want to go when we all have the freedom to roam.
Imagination is the creative power of innovators, artists’, actors and travel agents!
Using your imagination to see new discoveries is the secret to creating the discoveries.
Imagination fells like a dream. The secret is learning to live in the dream. Seeing yourself on the beach or in the mountains or at a friend’s house in Australia is the key to accelerating the physical trip or anything else you want to create, especially if it is seen as a BIG Deal to have it. Be sure to see yourself enjoying the place without adding any questions, like, “How am I going to pay for this?”
The following abbreviated story illustrates the way a friend used her desire for a trip, her imagination and consistent tangible and visual action to accomplish her goal. Keep in mind this story might take more money in today’s economy!
“On her 40th birthday my friend decided she wanted to go on a BIG trip to Italy with her friends on her 50th birthday. She also knew it would take time to save the money need for herself and her friends to enjoy the trip. Starting ten years in advance made it seem doable.
Her strategy was to save $20.00 every week, for ten years. It was a dollar amount she was comfortable with, knowing she would not miss the money in her everyday expenses. That would give her over $10,000. to pay for her travel expenses and accommodations and food for her and her friends. The only expenses they would have is plane fare. The plan felt good to her, she opened a special account and embarked on a ten year plan.
When she presented the idea to her friends they were delighted and encouraged her cheerfully.
Keeping her sights on the goal and being the determined person she is, the money in her travel account grew and slowly but surely her trip became a reality. Ten years and many bottles of wine had provided delightful conversation amongst her friends. Visualizing what they might do and see in Italy crystallized as the 9th year approached.
The plans were made and the trip provided wonderful experiences, sights and memories. But when listening to her talk about the build up and planning, I could tell it was a major part of the highlights of the trip.”
It was so easy as children to dream big and enjoy imagining ourselves in the dream. Recapture those moments as adults; we still have the capacity to dream. Whether your dream is to far of lands or a neighboring town, the dream itself is the first step.
Love to all,
