January, the first month of the year, has a special and mostly optimistic feeling, like a do-over card in the game of “Life”. With twelve-months of wide-open road in front of us, we all must decide where we want to go this year. Seeing a clear path will be easier as obstacles begin to dissolve allowing your mind to select new destinations. Following a middle of the road path is solid advice toward navigating the first few months ahead before you take off for big swerves. Whether you choose to continue to create from your home base or venture back into a more populated environment, there is no doubt everything will look and feel different this year.
I would like to take a moment to explain why the first blog I write each month talks about numerology. When I first began writing this blog last year at the beginning of the COVID shutdown, I knew many, if not all who were reading it. Most of them already knew how much I love numbers and embrace the knowledge and assistance they give to our earth existence. I like to think of the energy and meaning they represent as a road map to guide us into places we want to go.
Modern day numerology is normally credited to the Greek philosopher, Pythagoras. The idea behind numerology is that the cosmos and your life is affected by numbers. It is believed that there are no coincidences in the Universe. There is order in all things.
By better understanding the meaning of numbers in Numerology, we can better understand the information they are sending. In Numerology the single- digit numbers 1through 9 are the building blocks of the system, along with the Master numbers 11, 22, and 33. Your birth date, birth name and other factors create your personal chart of what potentials and pitfalls may show up in your life so you can take full advantage or steer clear.
I like to use the Pythagorean System to calculate words into numbers. Every letter has a numerical value, and each number has its own unique personality! I have copied a Pythagorean Chart at the end of this blog in case you want to look up your personal numbers. Any Numerology site will help with instructions. You will be amazed at the accurate descriptions. You will think the traits were written especially for you, and they were!
The same calculations give us the Universal Number of any year, month, or day. The Numerology of 2021 puts us into a Universal 5 year. (2+ 0+ 2+1= 5)
The Number 5 is all about “Change”. That might not be the descriptive word you were hoping for, but, before you scream at the thought of more change, I assure you the changes of the next year will take on a totally different energy than 2020. The word “Change” as defined for 2021 is dynamic, courageous, independent, and allowing for unexpected events. Change of any kind can cause disruption, however, when we experience or initiate change in the coming year, it will feel more natural because the Number 5 energy supports the above concept of “Change”. That is in total contrast to how we felt through most of 2020, where change was forced upon us. The 5 energy will allow you to make important changes in your life without the disruption that big changes often bring,
2020 was a ‘4’ year. In Numerology the Number 4 is associated with balance. The events of 2020 will ultimately create a more balanced existence, however, the initiation of the events felt like anything but balance. Balance and Change take time to make peace with each other.
While 2021 is a 5 Year, each month takes on its own identity. The month of January 2021 is a Universal “6” (1+ 2+0+2+1=6)
The Number 6 energy helps us move into unconditional love, self-care and become more emotionally present with others. Life gets so busy revolving around fulfilling demands of jobs and chores. Take a minute and see what is up in people’s lives. Learn to be a witness to their struggles, possibly holding their hand and helping if you can. However, the bigger lesson of the 6 energy is to learn that listening is a gift within itself, you do not always have to solve other’s problems to be helpful! Another lesson within a balanced 6 energy is to learn to give without conditions or judgement.
As we move into new numbers and new territory, “go slow and no one gets hurt” is the theme I am giving to the start of the year. Embrace these shifting times!
