Just think how wonderful it would be to live life advocating for what we believe rather than being imprisoned by what we are against. Our September excursion will be enhanced by delving into our true beliefs.
How many times have you realized that you just spent an entire conversation talking about all the things you did not want to happen? It could be shocking if you really took a tally. We all do it! Human nature if left unchecked dives toward the negative in a situation first. There are many theories to this pattern, however I believe it is because we are passionate humans. Letting our emotions out is a way to connect with others that are like minded or repel others with the opposite views of life. Either way, emotions that are exchanged and the way they are received makes for thrilling debate and discussion. But…
If it is true, and it is, that what we project to the world is a boomerang headed straight back towards us, then what is the cost of continually being “against”.
You don’t have to agree to the same reality as others. Overload of information moving lightning fast can be emotionally draining and slow progress on decisions and focus of what we are for. The clear choice is yours, are you going to choose to be your own best friend or your own worst enemy? Taking the time to clarify and decided what you are for is always a win to getting the result you want.
Mother Teresa explained the concept of being for something in her famous response she shared with the world. “I was once asked why I don’t participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a peace rally, I’ll be there.”
I was reminded of this quote at a dinner with friends. I wrote it down and taped it on the wall in my office.
Love to all,
