“Are you okay, Olaf?” – Kristoff
“Yah, we call this making the best out of what we can control!” – Olaf
Many in the US have been faced with weather conditions, power outages and being FROZEN for several days. Here in Texas record temperatures are capturing the national attention. The above exchange between Kristoff and Olaf, characters from the Disney movie Frozen, is the same as what many are reaching out asking and hearing from family, friends, and neighbors. When so many parts of life feel like they are out of your control, remembering to make the best of what is in your control can be hard to achieve. I hope everyone searched for puzzles or other out of your ordinary activities to make the best of what we can control! If you have damage and are still without water or power my prayers are with you!
As I have mentioned, the month of February is the Universal “7”. The beneficial energy suggested for everyone to go within, put your phone down and get to know yourself on a deeper level. Well… little did I know when writing the first blog of February, that Mother Nature would be so helpful enforcing the suggestion by turning off the electricity!
The freezing weather that forced us to stay inside and enjoy together/alone time also possibly caused resistance, anxiety, and aversion. Looking out the window can paint a beautiful snow driven picture, but it is only one part of people’s story. Understanding the anxiety of possible damage or safety or lost time at work is also part of this picture. After staying in a “worry state” for several days, it can be calming to think about all the people working together, checking on others and showing gratitude to those working on your behalf. This is one of the true gifts of this frozen moment in time created.
We are now moving towards the end of February and “Moon Omens Astrology” describes February 17th, the square between Saturn and Uranus, which will be active through 2021 as– We are likely to feel an ongoing back and forth between our attempts to move away from the old, and the opposite extreme of wanting to go back to familiar attachments that represent safety. And on February 18th they explain the energy move from Aquarius to Pisces as — Pisces season is a time for forgiveness, surrender, attunement to unconditional love, and acceptance of what we meet on our path. These are two timely explanations of the energy we will be working with, especially as we defrost from the last several days and move past whatever residue the cold left behind.
I know I keep talking about the Retrograde experience, but this one, for Texas especially, has been a doozy! On every level, state, local and residential, we have been shown with great acuity where systems, communication, and dwellings failed under pressure and need to be upgraded. This very weather event is the epitome of how a Retrograde, through exposure, gives us an opportunity to sharpen it up!
Mercury will be out of Retrograde and moving forward on the 20th . I hope everyone took full advantage of the self-check-in time. (Even before the Ice Show!) One last way to take advantage of this Retrograde would be to make a list of all the things that you were happy you had available during the FROZEN days and a list everything you wish you had. This historic freezing experience may not happen again for a very long time but making a list and checking it twice is one way to make the best out of what is in our control, because there will a next time!
Love to all,
