Holiday season begins!
Full moons shine a light on every part of life while marking the crowning moment in the monthly lunar cycle. This week’s full moon is known as the Beaver Moon and will occur overnight (Nov. 18th) into Friday (Nov. 19th) morning. The name Beaver Moon is called after beavers as they are now preparing for their dams for winter. On a more symbolic level, this month’s full moon is said to illuminate the things we need to feel warm and secure in a time of increasing seasonal cold. It brings forward the influence of stability and helps us to determine what is truly valuable and what is no longer needed.
This year’s Beaver Full Moon is extra significant given that it is also a partial lunar eclipse, which means that it is ushering in all sorts of emotional changes. That might be good news for some who are looking to redirect to a more positive place, but there is also a caution to sudden shifts of emotions. The energetic build up to this full moon arrives packed with extra potential for chaos and misunderstandings. With this much energy surfacing, family gatherings might present new challenges.
Remembering we have all changed since the last get together is vital. If family or guests don’t seem to be getting your direction of where you are going this year, help them see your bigger picture. This is a great opportunity to shake up communication with others and connect in new ways. Keeping some of the old traditions and building new ones together will be easier now, since most families have not had big gatherings for some time.
While emotions are circling the center of this introspective month, resisting the urge toward overreaction might be harder than usual. However, planning and being aware of potential potholes in our get togethers can help shape a holiday that is good for all, setting an example for years to come.
Time to let those leadership skills shine!
Love to all,
