Spring begins in March; however, it comes into its own in the month of April when the sun really starts to shine. April is thought of as rebirth, new starts, and moving outside to enjoy the great weather. The Easter Holiday will be celebrated this weekend and brings a powerful rebirth vibration just waiting to spring into a celebration, whether that comes in the form of a party or just a feeling of openness and Spirit of the Day. Whatever you choose to do, even surfing the internet for Easter Lilies, chocolate bunnies, and Easter Egg Hunts can create feelings of newness that is happening all over the globe. And, with all the commercial possibilities of the day, I hope everyone takes some time to explore and give attention to the true meaning of why we celebrate this season.
The whole earth has gone through a rigorous release process over the past year, and everyone is experiencing the shedding of old skin for new. (Just like our flowers!) Happy April Fool’s Day! The first day of April has always been about tricksters and playing practical jokes on one another. The lighthearted day is without question the most widely recognized non-religious holiday in the Western world. With social media playing a starring role today, the internet will be filled with pranks continuing a tradition dating back to 1561! A favorite retold prank from 1698 in Europe is known as “the washing of the lions.” Many unaware citizens were tricked into schlepping to the Tower of London to watch the “washing of the lions,” a ceremony that did not exist! The local newspaper debunked the hoax the next day and took jabs at those who fell for the prank. Sounds a lot like something that would go viral today!
