Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less. – Marie Curie
In 1911, Marie Curie was the first women to win a Nobel Prize and is the first person to win in two different fields. She is most known for her discoveries regarding radioactivity and championing the use of X-Rays. In her biography it is obvious Curie overcame many of her own fears and helped others by her research, discoveries, and ultimately breaking barriers during her lifetime.
Curie’s success was attributed to her fearless determination and persistent understanding that failure is only a temporary setback on a bigger and more significant course. Throughout history to present day there have been many others who did not find success at their first try such as Arianna Huffington who got rejected by 36 publishers, Bill Gates who watched his first company crumble, Walt Disney who was told he lacked creativity, Milton Hershey who went bankrupt twice before founding Hershey’s and numerous other examples.
Everyone encounters failures in one way or another. What truly matters is the amount of understanding you gain and most of all releasing any “fear” of trying again.
Fear is our most powerful emotion and the one we are most controlled by. It is a survival mechanism, an instinctive reaction to our survival that warns us about potential threats. We need a certain amount of fear to survive. When we recognize a fearful situation, a trigger is ignited urging us to protect ourselves from the perceived danger. However, it can also stop us in our tracks. Speaking of stopping things in their tracks…
The third and final Mercury Retrograde of the year started on Monday, Oct. 27th. Mercury seemingly traveling backwards has in the past projected fear that bad things could happen. Despite this generally negative response, it is a time of profound revelation and expansion, bringing a better understanding of situations that need to be addressed.
Not all Retrogrades are created equal. Because of the alignment of planets in our sky, this Mercury Retrograde is bringing a supportive energy. It is an optimal time for dreaming your world into being. Play the “what if” scenarios and allow your imagination latitude to wander and see where it leads; understanding change, not a fear of change.
Learning to look beyond the surface of a situation as Marie Curie and many others have done before us, (especially during Mercury Retrograde) and using intuition to move past limitations and fears is an opportunity we all are being given. It is a perfect time to willingly see the light in the dark shining on the changes needed for a better today. Failing is part of our learning process, don’t fear it!

Change and changing times stir up emotions in directions we might not be expecting.
Two powerful emotions cannot exist at the same time.
If you are feeling fear, shift to gratitude.
